You've probably heard of Einstein's definition of insanity – doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
We know what we know but we don't know what we don't know.
In order to get somewhere new we have to do something different. But doing something different requires:
A) knowing what that different thing is
B) having the courage to travel unknown and unfamiliar territory
Several years ago I was totally frustrated in my work. I had come to a point in my "career" where my yoga teaching was proving itself NOT to be a viable business. I had a difficult conversation with my husband who suggested that I try to find another way to make some money and contribute financially to the household. I was devastated at the thought of having to do something that my heart wasn't into just to pay the bills. I was hell bent on making it work and proving to my husband (and myself) that I can do what I love while making a living.
I tried doing what I knew, thinking that if I just became a better teacher, if I spent more time making my yoga classes life changing, that somehow my classes would begin to overflow with students like some of the other Rockstar yoga teachers I envied. But it didn't happen.
I came to the realization that I needed guidance. I needed help (gulp). I needed to learn some new skills and do something that I had never done before.
So I decided to get a coach. I made the decision to join a program and be part of a group that was also trying to make the changes that I wanted to make. Who also had the same challenges and difficulties that I had.
I invested in myself. I invested in my growth and in my passion. I invested in my transformation. As a result, I couldn’t be happier doing what I love and am passionate about while helping others create a life they love.
Until you are invested in your change, it won't happen. You quite simply won't do the work. You have to be willing to put in the time, money, and attention into it.
If you are serious about changing you need to INVEST IN GUIDANCE.
If you want to improve your life, invest in a coach or enroll in a course
If you want to sculpt your physique, invest in a personal trainer
If you want to learn a new skill, invest in a teacher
If you want to uplevel your self care, improve your sleep, increase your energy and have a better diet, invest in Align and Thrive, yoga health coaching (shameless plug, I know).
But seriously, if you've been frustrated with things that didn't work, if you don't know where to start and want guidance and a step-by-step approach to improving your health and prioritizing your self-care, join my next group which starts April 11th. I'm taking 12 dedicated students ready to break free of outdated patterns and cultivate the daily habits to feel their best. Are you ready for change? If so, set up a free 30 minute strategy session with me here and we'll see if it's a good fit : )
